1. Prep the shoe. With canvas shoes, this step is quite simple. Make sure the shoe is clean, tape any areas of the shoe that you don’t want paint on, and use Angelus Shoe Trees so that you have a surface to press against while painting.
2. Gather your Angelus Paints of choice. For your base coats, mix Angelus Paints with Angelus 2-Soft at a 50-50 Ratio. This will allow you to keep your shoes soft after being painted.
3. Paint your shoe with your Paint/2-Soft Mixture. This mixture will absorb into the fabric, so make sure not to put to much paint on your brush at one time so it doesn’t bleed into the areas that you don’t want it to.
4. Headset your Paint/2-Soft Mixture with a heatgun or blowdryer. THIS STEP IS MANDATORY WHEN USING 2-SOFT. Heat up the painted shoe for 3-5 minutes to dry the Paint/2-Soft and keep the fabrics soft after painting.
5. After painting, you can use Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer and a cotton swab to remove any paint that got on the eyelets of rubber.
6. After your base coats are complete, using Angelus Paint straight out of the bottle to paint your swirl design. Using Angelus Paints straight out of the bottle will give you more control when painting line work and details, such as these swirls.
7. Once you are finished painting and the paint is completely dry, you can move on to applying your finisher. This step is completely optional as Angelus Paint is very durable by itself, but many people like to use a finisher for as much protection as possible, as well as to change the sheen of the shoe. We recommend our 4-Coat Finisher Wait at least 24 Hours before wearing the shoes to allow the paint to dry completely.
Your custom painted Vans are now complete. Use the principles learned today to paint any design on canvas shoes!

Leather shoes are more than just a wardrobe staple; they are an investment. To keep them in pristine condition, understanding the science behind shoe wax and its role in leather care is essential. In this article, we'll dive into how shoe wax works, its benefits, and why it's a must-have for leather shoe enthusiasts.
Shoe wax is a blend of waxes and solvents. The primary components usually include beeswax, carnauba wax, and mineral spirits. Beeswax offers waterproofing properties, carnauba wax provides a hard finish and shine, and mineral spirits are used as a solvent that helps the wax penetrate the leather. The combination of these ingredients creates a protective barrier for leather shoes.
Moisture Resistance: Leather, being a natural material, is prone to damage from moisture. Shoe wax creates a protective layer that repels water, preventing stains and water damage.
Improved Durability: Regular application of shoe wax can significantly extend the life of your leather shoes. The wax layer protects the leather from scratches, scuffs, and the wear-and-tear of daily use.
UV Protection: Just like skin, leather can be damaged by prolonged exposure to the sun's UV rays. Some shoe waxes contain UV blockers that help prevent fading and maintain the leather's color.
Applying shoe wax is an art in itself. Start by cleaning your shoes and removing any dirt or debris. Apply a small amount of wax with a soft cloth in circular motions. Allow it to dry, then buff with a horsehair brush or cloth for a high shine. For best results, apply thin layers of wax rather than a single thick layer.
Aesthetic Appeal: Regular waxing keeps shoes looking shiny and new.
Flexibility: Wax keeps the leather supple, reducing the likelihood of cracks.
Odor Prevention: Shoe wax can also help prevent odors by keeping the leather conditioned.
Shoe wax is not just about making your leather shoes shine; it's a crucial component in preserving and extending their life. Understanding the science behind it empowers you to take better care of your leather shoes, ensuring they remain a cherished part of your wardrobe for years.
Explore our range of high-quality shoe waxes and give your leather shoes the care they deserve.

Understanding Color Matching:
Color matching isn't just about picking a paint that looks close to your desired shade, tint, or tone. It involves understanding color theory, pigments, and the interaction of light. Angelus Paints are formulated with precision, allowing you to mix and match colors with confidence. To achieve accurate results, begin by learning the basics of color theory, including primary, secondary, and complementary colors. This knowledge forms the foundation for creating your custom shades
Angelus Color Charts and Resources:
Angelus Direct provides color charts to assist you in your color selection and matching journey. Our color charts and swatches display the entire Angelus Paint color palette, allowing you to choose the best base colors you'll need for your project. These charts are invaluable references when you're looking to match a specific hue.
Precision Mixing and Testing:
Once you've selected your base colors, precision mixing is key. Take your base color and mix in small amounts of colors that are used seen in the undertones. Once your color looks close, use black to darken it, white to lighten it, and grey to mute your hue. Start with small amounts and gradually adjust your mix until you've achieved the desired color. Remember that like most acrylic paints, angelus paints will dry slightly darker than they appear wet. If you are going to want to make this color again, make sure to keep track of your mixing ratios.
Layering and Gradual Build-Up:
Sometimes, the perfect color match isn't quite there when you lay down your first coat of paint. In these cases, the key is to layer your custom mix gradually. Start with a base layer that closely matches your target color and let it dry completely. Then, apply subsequent layers, adjusting the hue as needed, until you achieve the seamless finish you desire.
Collector Edition Paints:
If you are looking to color match a popular shoe, check out our collector edition paints that come pre-matched to some of the most popular shoe colorways. Keep in mind even these colors change form year to year and may require small tweaks to match a specific year. But these are the best starting point for this application!
Color matching is both an art and a science, and mastering it is essential for any sneaker customizer. Armed with a solid understanding of color theory and the right tools, you can create a seamless finish that elevates your custom projects to a professional level. So, whether you're recreating a favorite colorway or crafting an entirely unique design, embrace the art of color matching & mixing, and make your vision a reality with Angelus Paints.matched to some of the most popular shoe colorways. ]]>Prepping your mask will ensure the paint can properly bond to the plastic so you look great through the entire spooky season. Use Angelus Leather Preparer and Deglazer (or acetone) to remove any top coat that may come on the mask from the factory. This will also remove any oils, dirt, and smooth any small scuffs. It is also a great idea to use a high-grit sandpaper to prep the plastic as well. After sanding, do one more pass with Deglazer to remove and left over debris.
Use a regular #2 pencil to sketch on your design onto your mask. This step isn't necessary, but can make painting your design a much smoother process. Feel free to erase and redraw until your design is perfect!
Take an empty paint marker and pour in a mixture of equal parts Black Angelus Paint and Angelus 2-Thin. Then outline your design! You can also use this marker to color in smaller black parts of your design.
Mix your designer Angelus Paint Colors with Angelus 2-Hard at a 1:1 ratio. This will help the Angelus Paint adhere better to the plastic and be more durable if your mask gets bumped or scratched. We recommend 3-5 Layers of paint or until your colors are solid. You can re-outline your design with another layer of black after coloring in your mask if needed.
Finally add a finisher such as our 4-Coat on-top of your work. This will add an extra layer of protection as well as change the sheen of your project, in Sophie’s case, she chose Angelus Matte 4-Coat for a matte finish.
Now that you’re done, head out to your spookiest parties and show off your new artwork!
]]>When a custom artist gets invited to some events in NYFW, it’s pretty much a no-brainer that they’re going to want to show up with a 1-of-1 piece, and Pink Lomein knew the assignment. It was commissioned as a surprise and features their wedding venue on it. A sweet gift that was perfectly executed by Alexa.
It’s October, and we all know that means: Halloween! While many people are in the horror mood this month, Artzy_junkie stays in it year-round and has actually built her entire art business off of it. After creating hundreds (at least 😅) of horror themed bags, she has become the go-to for for many people whenever they want something “cute and horror”.
As we wrap up our tour through the captivating world of custom handbags, it's clear that these creations are more than just accessories—they're personal canvases. These handbags remind us that fashion is more than what you wear; it's a reflection of who you are. Each handbag celebrates individuality and serves as a testament to the boundless creativity of their makers.
]]>The shape of a brush greatly influences the type of strokes you can achieve. Here are some common brush shapes and their ideal uses:
Round Brushes: Known for their versatility, round brushes have a pointed tip and can be used for fine lines, details, and thicker line work depending on the size. They're suitable for a wide range of painting styles.
Flat Brushes: With their rectangular shape and straight edges, flat brushes are excellent for creating crisp lines, edges, and broad swaths of color.
Filbert Brushes: These brushes have an oval-shaped, flat tip with slightly rounded edges. They're versatile, allowing you to make both broad and fine strokes, making them ideal for blending and soft edges.
Angular Brushes: Angular brushes, are perfect for achieving precise, controlled strokes with sharp edges, making them ideal for detailed work like architectural elements and calligraphy, while also allowing for expressive brushwork.
The material of the brush bristles affects how paint is applied and the overall texture of your artwork.
Angelus Paintbrushes are made with fine high-quality taklon bristles that are durable and create smooth strokes that leave behind little-to-no brush strokes.
The size of a brush matters for achieving precision and coverage. Smaller brushes (e.g., 0 to 2) are great for intricate details, while larger brushes (e.g., 10 to 12) cover larger areas quickly. Having a variety of brush sizes in your toolkit gives you flexibility.
Choosing the right paint brush is essential to creating the artwork of your dreams. By considering the brush shape, bristle material, size, you'll be well-equipped to select the perfect tool for your next painting adventure. Remember, the brush is an extension of your creativity, so choose wisely and let your imagination run wild on the canvas!

First, we want to start off the customs by coffee-dying the soles to give the shoe that vintage look. Instead of dip-dying the shoes, we are going to brush the coffee onto the soles since the rest of the shoes will be painted. This method will require much less coffee and much less mess!
Next let's get our colors ready for the shoe. After you have mixed your Angelus Paints and found your desired base colors, you will want to create shades of each of those colors. The easiest way to do this is to add some black or grey to your base color mixture. For darker color mixtures, such as our blue, we will use black to create our shade. Since black can quickly overpower a paint mixture, for our lighter colors, we will use grey to darken the paint.
It’s almost time to paint! First and foremost, make sure to prep your shoe before painting. To do this, use Angelus Leather Preparer and Deglazer to remove the factory finish and ensure the paint can properly bond to the shoe. Do 3-5 Passes with the Leather Preparer. You can also do a light sanding with a high grit sandpaper (instead or in addition to) to remove this factory finish. After the Shoe is prepped, paint your base colors onto the shoe using multiple thin coats until you achieve your desired opacity.
Time to create that shadow/cartoon look! Pick a spot you want your light source to be, and paint your shadows accordingly using your darkened paint mixture of each base color. You can sketch these shadows out with a pencil first to make sure you like their placement, and use a smaller brush (such as one from our Micro Brush Pack) to paint the thin sections. For the orange on our shoe, we also painted a border using our darker shade to add to the cartoon look.
After your shadows are completely painted, add 1-2 Layers of your finisher of choice, we went with 4-Coat Flat! Then lace up your shoes and go show them off!

What is cupixel?
Cupixel is an all-in-one creation app that enables anyone to create art, regardless of experience. It was built with all skill levels in mind. It includes tools like artist-led classes, augmented reality tracing, AI to convert images from your camera roll into artwork you can trace, a text editor, and more. Our friend Jonathon Millar (@jsm_801_customs) partnered with them to adapt this technology to create customs, making it an essential tool for beginners and experts alike.
Here is how it works:
After downloading the app, check out JSM’s classes on customizing your shoes. Here, he gives beginners all of the tools, tips and techniques you need to prepare, paint and finish custom sneakers. One major component of this process is using augmented reality to trace any design directly onto the shoe.
First, you determine what you want to trace onto the shoe. The app has tons of ready-made patterns including drips, animal prints, and the Bape camo pattern. You can also select something from your camera roll - a photo you’ve taken, something you’ve downloaded, or an image you created in Procreate. You can also utilize the text editor to add a name or a jersey number within the app
Set your phone on a stand in between you and your shoe, look through the phone and trace. The innovative technology provides you with a live preview of your design as you work on it. This means you can experiment, adjust, and fine-tune your artwork on the spot, ensuring that your vision is executed exactly as you want it.

Deadpool/Marvel Nike Uptempo by @starlinecustoms
The grungy effects and small portrait work makes it obvious that Karl Chester knows what he's doing when it comes to painting. The mix of hand painting and airbrushing techniques creates an array of depth and texture that really brings these customs to life and adds to that comic book/superhero feel. We love the choice of fitting the art composition to the contours of the “R” and “A” letters on the nike silhouette, making it both easy to look at and extremely wearable.
Princess Mononoke Denim Jacket by @deisydo_art
Behold, an exquisite masterpiece emerges in the form of a hand-painted Princess Mononoke denim jacket, a wearable canvas that bridges art and fashion. Hand painted from start to finish, every stroke of Angelus Paint tells a story of wilderness, harmony, and conflict, mirroring the intricate narrative of the film. This wearable art piece not only showcases obvious artistic ability, but also encapsulates the essence of a beloved animated world, allowing you to carry the magic of Studio Ghibli wherever you venture.
Snake Tattooed Nike Dunks by @blue_soul_customs
While most people apply paint with a brush, Blue Soul Customs breaks the norm by using his tattoo machine to customize sneakers. By dipping the needle into Angelus Paint and tattooing the leather, he creates ridiculously crispy and thin lines with a look that are seemingly impossible to replicate with a paintbrush. This line-work snake that is intertwined throughout the shoes panels was done by someone who obviously has both experience and a steady hand. We can’t wait to see how far he takes this avenue of painting/tattooing.

Creating a mockup is the perfect way to see how your customs will look before getting started. Download Free Templates Here! Once you have selected your color, you can actually use Photoshops color picker to help you mix your colors.
First find your closest color out of the bottle as a starting point. Then use the vertical on the slider to the right to help you dial in the color. For example, in the right photo below, you can see that the vertical slider to the fight of the color box tells us that this specific pink we have selected is more of a Pink/Red than a Pink/Purple. This can be super helpful!
Then look at the large box on the left in this same pink example we can see that the color selected is closer to the left side of the box, meaning we may want to add some white to lighten up the color. It is also moved slightly down from the top of the box, meaning we may want to use some grey to desaturate the color. If the color selected was all the ways to the right and down, we would want to add some black to darken it.
When the time comes to mix your colors, if you have white in your mixture, start with the white as a base, otherwise you may end up wasting paint.
When the time comes to mix your colors, if you have white in your mixture, start with the white as a base, otherwise you may end up wasting paint. You can see the examples below which showcase starting with White, then adding our color, then desaturating/darkening the colors with a drop of Gray. Be careful with Grays and Blacks as they are very powerful and can quickly overtake you mixture!
Time to work on the shoe! Make sure you prep the shoe before painting to remove the factory finish so that the paint can properly adhere. To do this, do 3-5 passes with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer or acetone. A light sanding with high grit sandpaper also works great instead or in addition. Then apply your colors and designs with 3-5 layers of Paint. After painting, you can use a finisher for some extra protection, we recommend our 4-Coat!
Add some sparkle with rhinestones! Use a clear adhesive on the area which you wish to make shin. Then use a dull colored pencil to easily pick of the rhinestones and place the down on the glue. Be sure to apply pressure afterwards!
There you have it! Custom shoes that might make all your little ones friends just a tad jealous. 😅

@JadedCreativeuk “Casa Madrigal” Bag
Much larger than your normal custom handbag, this “Casa Madrigal” Kate Spade custom is huge! Across this large painting you can find a plethora of colors and detail, giving the viewer plenty of visuals to soak up. From the colorful roof and trees, to the cute animals throughout the landscape, this piece is nothing short of impressive.
@colormefresh “Angelus Paint” AJ1
Commissioned by the CEO of Angelus Direct himself, this pair of custom Jordan high tops is themed around Angelus Paints. Each shoe features “wet” paint surrounding the uppers, custom leather Angelus tongue tags, handmade paint brush “swooshes”, and topped off with Lace Lab laces. The contrasting colors of the asymmetrical pair makes them that much more interesting, while still being seamlessly cohesive. This pair is currently sitting on display at Angelus Headquarters storefront.
Based on Ryuko's outfit in the anime “Kill la Kill”. We can’t say it better than Enzoh himself, so check out what he has to say about this pair. “The main scheme of this pair is based on Ryuko’s street clothes delinquent fit from the early episodes of the series! Designed the swoosh to resemble her iconic Scissor Blade, with the tongue tags being inspired by the stickers on her blade’s case that she carried on her back. Wanted to create a good balance between the bright reds accents with the dark blues and gave the white sections a bit of a “worn down” and “dirty” look since the Ryuko’s vibe isn’t really the “pristine princess.”

Don’t: Painting over a previously painted surface without prepping.
If you want to paint over an already painted surface, such as shoes that have already been customized, you will want to “re-prep” the shoe as much as possible. This means using Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer to remove as much of the previous finish and paint as possible, revealing the raw leather, and allowing the new paint to bond with the leather much better!
Do: Use correct brush sizes.
While you may want to make your cleanup as quick as possible and just use one brush, you will get much better final results using different brushes depending on what you are painting. For example, Use larger brushes to cover more area, but small brushes for line work (and the tiniest of brushes for the tiniest of details).
Do: Add the correct amount of Paint Additive to mixes.
When using Angelus Paint Additives with your Angelus Paints, make sure to use the correct ratios. Angelus Paint Additives greatly expand what you can use Angelus Paints for, but using too much or little could keep you from getting the results that you want. For example, using too much 2-Thick or Duller can make the paint less durable or flexible, which you definitely don’t want!
Here are the following ratios for you to follow.
2-Thin Paint Thinner= 1:4 Ratio (2-Thin to Paint)
2-Thick Paint Thickener = 2-20% 2-Thick
2-Hard Plastic Adhesion Promoter = 50-57% 2-Hard
2-Soft Fabric Medium Additive = 1:1 Ratio
Duller Gloss Reducer = 5-8% Duller
Do: Quick Taping Method
When taping over panels, especially Nike Swooshes, try taping over the entire thing, pressing into the crease with your nail, and then carefully cutting away the excess tape with a Detail Knife. This can save you lots of time as opposed to trying to lay the tape perfectly along the edge of the panel.
Don’t: Add too few coats of paint.
It can be tempting to use as few coats as possible when painting large areas, especially with a color that is very opaque like Black. However, adding too few coats can limit the strength of the paint. We recommend 4-5 layers of paint when working on wearable customs. The exception is for line work and small details as these do not cover large areas.
Don’t: Not thinning paint before airbrushing.
While Angelus Paint can be run through an airbrush straight out of the bottle if the nozzle is .5mm or larger. For smaller airbrush nozzles, or older paint that has thickened over time, make sure to thin the paint using Angelus 2-Thin.
Even with fresh paint and a .5mm nozzle size, most people still like to thin their paint a bit with 2-Thin for an easier flow. Thinning paint will also make pouring your paint through a paint strainer a much quicker process, which is very important to prevent small bits of dried paint or debris from entering your airbrush and causing clogging.
Don’t: Not cleaning your airbrush in between uses.
Not cleaning your airbrush between uses can lead to a clogged up airbrush that doesn’t spray evenly, or in some cases, at all.
In between each use, make sure to run some Angelus Brush Cleaner through your airbrush to clear out any left over paint. A cool trick is to pour in some Brush Cleaner, cover the nozzle with a paper towel, and pull the trigger until you see bubbles forming. Then remove the paper towel and spray out the solution. Along with it with be most of that leftover paint. Then use a cotton swab to get the rest.
Every couple uses it is best to use a proper Airbrush Cleaning Kit to deep clean your airbrush gun and keep it in mint condition. To do this, take apart your gun and deep clean each piece using the needles and brushes included in the kit.

]]>A picturesque day in Hawaii is almost the definition of what people dream their summers to look like. Jar took this island vibe and perfectly portrayed it on this pair of custom Air Force 1’s. Featuring palm leaves and floral print around the shoe, with the toe box showing off the sunny blue skies that flow over from the side panels. On the outer sides you can find a surfer (right shoe) and a hula girl playing the ukulele (left shoe). In addition, custom tiki tongue tags, pineapple heel tags, and green rope Lace Lab Laces complete this one of a kind shoe that is perfect for the summer season.
Vibrant and colorful flora overlay the front panel and heel tab, with a smooth blue gradient along the sides. Of course, we can’t forget the characters across the front panel who have stolen our hearts, Stitch and Kevin from “Up”. Vans are a classic summertime footwear choice, and The Wicked Enchantment certainly took it to another level with these custom kicks that instantly put you in a good mood when looking at them.
Summer is hot, which means you’re gonna need a way to keep those drinks cold and stay refreshed. Lucky for us, Frank Anthony created probably the best looking solution to this possible. “Unrepressed” is one of his self proclaimed “most tedious pieces to date”. That being said, we think it was worth all of the time it took. Utilizing his signature calling cards, wood grain, a checkered pattern, and sunflowers, this custom mini fridge screams Kingdom Made.

With the latest Spiderman movie having released at the beginning of this month, we have been seeing custom shoes with this theme pop up for the past couple of weeks. Here is one of our favorite Spiderman Customs that we’ve come across. Custom Painted by @316customfootwear, these shoes incorporate more than a few different visual references to the movies. These include, a graffiti swoosh, a “Ben Dots dots” style swoosh, the “Leap of Faith” scene from the first movie, comic book style text and textures, and so much more. View more pics on their page here!
Stunning craftsmanship on this futurist space scene that requires more than a quick look to take in, spanning across 4 sides of this designer Louis Vuitton watch case. The main attraction of this art piece has to be the large spaceship which flaunts a chrome style inspired by the art and techniques of the famous artist Sorayama. Not only does Esther execute this chrome styling perfectly, they also seamlessly added a subtle LV logo to the rocket ship nose. The bag also features a second ship, colorful planets, moons, and plenty of vibrant colors to create a space background that blends the design right into the bag.
I think it’s safe to say that most people who see this bag won’t even realize that it is custom painted at first glance, that’s how clean and factory this hand painted design is. Covering the entire front panels of this backpack, this is no small painting. Featuring 2 of the main characters, this artwork will instantly capture the attention of those who have seen the popular anime “Overlord”. With bold and crisp linework, perfect color selection and mixing, and even smooth gradients and effects in the glowing eyes and blushing cheeks. Shelly shows she has a handle on all of the techniques needed to create pristine art.
These one of a kind Vans feature the artist's cats (Kaloud and Coal) on the left shoe, and her friends cat (Chief) on the right shoe. The comic book style art is impossible not to love, and the hand painted art is applied to the shoes perfectly, making them appear almost as if they came right out of the Vans factory like this (though we promise they didn’t). Jaynevie made sure to work in some “easter eggs” into these shoes, such as the word “MOW” being in a speech bubble instead of “MEOW”. This is because her cat Coal can’t produce the “meow” sound, just “mow”. Check out her profile to learn more about the making of the sneakers and what went into the design!

]]>Over the years we have seen artists use our products to customize a truly countless number of items. Some of our favorite, but less popular of those items, are custom guitars. Through the use of Angelus Paints and Dyes, you can create truly one-of-a-kind instruments that will stand out in your studio or on stage. Check out some of these amazing examples of the artwork you can create using Angelus products on your guitars.
Sponsored artist Tommy Nickerson (@beargallery) came through the studio and customized this guitar for a follow-along tutorial on our Youtube Channel (watch the full video here!). He began the custom with an array of Angelus Leather Dyes to create the underwater “sky” for the scene. After dyeing the background, he went in with Angelus Paints and painted Spongebob in one of his favorite places, Jellyfish Fields. This piece came together amazing and currently sits in our storefront impressing and inspiring everyone who comes through.
Creating guitars and basses in all shapes and colors, Jay Hale (@jhaleguitarsusa) turns to Angelus Leather Dyes whenever he needs to create vibrant fades on his handcrafted instruments. Not afraid to have his work stand out from the crowd, Jay often grabs some of our brighter colors, including our Green and Blue Dyes used on the work you see above. From broad fades on the guitar body to more subtle work along the head, Jay is making sure all of his customers pull up to their gigs with gear that gets people talking.
Having made custom guitars for over 20 years, BigDGuitars has worked with more wood than most people handle in a hundred lifetimes! Coming from a family of men who built furniture and violins, he has never been a stranger to woodworking. He got his start with a personal project making himself a guitar, and it quickly turned into an obsession. He uses Angelus Leather Dyes to create everything from dark stains to bright bursts in his work, and he has clearly mastered the art of it.

We know all the 90's kids have a soft spot for these! Crazy detail and thought put into this pair of custom painted AJ1s. Designed by @beardedbrocustoms and painted by @dejesuscustomfootwear with Angelus Paints. @beardedbrocustoms designed this as part of a competition where @dejesuscustomfootwear followers would vote on design mockups, and he would recreate the winners. It’s not hard to see why this was one of the winning pairs that got made. Once completed Dejesus linked customizer and photographer @canarykid_ to capture 90’s inspired photos, such as the one seen above.
Made in the 90’s about living in the 80’s, the Goofy movie is a truly classic animated film @thewickedenchantment took her love for the movie and created a truly stunning pair of Goofy Slip-On Vans. If anybody has made a cleaner pair of custom shoes based on this movie…we havent come across them.
Neon Lights and pizza-at-the-arcade vibes. Man, the 80’s were cool (I’m assuming I wasn’t actually born yet). @shoebyjar created these 1 of 1 custom Air Force 1’s for a pizza shop that was completely revamping their aesthetic to make you feel like you are in the 80s while eating your pie. Not only do these shoes definitely match that 80’s aesthetic, they also look pretty dang appetizing.
It’s not hard to see that custom shoes are a fun and creative way to bring a part of the 80's and 90's back into your life. Whether based on fashion trends of the time, of a film character you fell in love with in your childhood, anything can be put on shoes, jackets, bags, and pretty much anything else by using Angelus Paints.

Two amazing pieces by Frank on completely different materials. The first is a leather futon that he painted back in 2019 and has gotten plenty of use in its place in his art studio. The second is a chair he found on the side of the road a few weeks ago that he then cleaned up, painted with Angelus Paints, and coated in resin, flaunting a similar version of his signature checkered/woodgrain design. Nothing hits quite like an upcycled piece.
Chad painted this one-of-a-kind leather chair in collaboration with us for a giveaway (sorry, it’s already over). He walked into the studio not even knowing what the chair looked like and freestyled this stunning piece that screams his unique style, Us and the new owner couldn't be more psyched on it. A perfect example of a hand painted piece of furniture that will get compliments from every houseguest who sees it…and we can’t imagine anyone would miss it.
We love getting positive feedback such as this 5 Star review by one of our customers who DIY restored their couch using Angelus Paints. The customer, Julie, mixed Tan with a little Red to match the rest of the couch that wasn't ripped up, feathered the paint to blend it, and finished it off with our Matte Acrylic Finisher to match the sheen of the original color. You don’t have to be a seasoned artist to take on projects like this, just willingness to try something new and a free afternoon!
