Whether you decide to paint a new design by hand or create stencils to add a pattern or monogram there are a few steps to follow to make sure your new design lasts.
The first step is to prepare the area that you plan on painting with Angelus Leather Prepare and Deglazer. This step will make sure that any finish is removed so paint can adhere to the leather.

Vinyl paper or Red Vinyl Tape can be used to create custom stripes, monograms or patterns. Apply your design with any of the Angelus paints. Several coats might be required to get the desired look. If you're using lighter colors over a darker material start with a white base to act as a sort of primer. This way the new, lighter color can come through clearly. Make sure to let the product completely dry between steps.
When the design is finished seal it with Acrylic Finisher in the finish of your choice.
Whether you're giving new life to a vintage bag or customizing a new purse, Angelus paint can be a playful way to create your own one of a kind piece.
