How to Make Custom Neon Artworks By Using Angelus Neon Paints

Step 1: Prep the Surface

Start by cleaning your leather or synthetic leather with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer to remove any factory finish or oils. This ensures your neon paint sticks smoothly and lasts longer.

Step 2: Apply a Solid Base Coat

For the brightest neon pop, paint a white base layer first using Angelus Flat White Paint. Let it dry completely. This will make the neon colors appear more vivid and amplify the glow under blacklight.

I'm based in Italy.

I first heard about Angelus products in 2022. I was searching on Google for products specifically made for painting on vegan leather and denim, so that customized pieces would last a long time and stay intact even after washing. I ended up watching a YouTube video that talked about these paints, so I bought the starter kit and now I have over 60 different shades!

I use Angelus products to prep, paint, and seal anime and videogame designs on anything I can customize, mostly jackets and bags. I customize pieces for my clients, but also for myself I’m a big fan of anything personalized!

I’m absolutely in love with the Neon Paint line, they create amazing effects under blacklight! And the Pearlescent Paints are just magical, especially when used with an airbrush — they turn into clouds of gorgeous glitter. Another product I can’t live without is the Leather Preparer & Deglazer, which helps the paint go on smoothly. I always finish with the Matte Acrylic Finisher (my favorite from the whole line), and the Water and Stain Repellent Spray, which gives me extra peace of mind when it comes to weather resistance.
