I use finisher normal many times, i buy the Mate from Italy, and i also use for the firts time this week. It’s perfect, like the normal but this have a beutiful effect on the colors. The colors be opaque.
I bought the finisher for some new Air Force 1's that I painted. I followed all the recommendations for prepping, painting, drying and finishing. I did 3-4 coats of paint in light layers and 2 coats of finisher. After about a week I noticed the paint started cracking. I am disappointed as I thought this wouldn't happen for much longer and also because I bought the shoes with the purpose of painting them and now they have cracks in them. Also the fabric paint started bleeding onto the tongue which I mentioned in my review of the 2 Soft Fabric Medium.
Hey Jeremy,Thank you for reaching out, from the images you provided us it looks like its creased all around the Toe box, this usually happens when the shoe has been worn before customizing. Prepping them with sandpaper and acetone is a must especially in areas that crease, but most importantly very light coats and proper dry time in between is necessary for the paint not to crack or peel. Secondly, several applications will be needed to obtain full and even coverage, Heat-set using a heatgun at 300º F for 3-5 minutes (this step is REQUIRED) to keep the material nice and soft. By doing this, this will avoid bleeding. I also recommend Water & Stain Repellent. This product provides an invisible protective coating that repels water and stains to help keep surfaces clean and dry.
