PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

*Please note that our Neon Colors require a base color of a similar shade before application.*

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

*Please note that our Neon Colors require a base color of a similar shade before application.*

5. Leave to dry.

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

This is a great kit to start my shoe painting hobby

This is a great kit to start my shoe painting hobby. I love that the formula is especially created to work with the leather, and not against it as other paints are. I am looking forward to trying more colors.

Not bad for a $10 pair of shoes from a thrift store.

This pair of shoes was so much fun to design and work with. The Angelus Leather Acrylic Paints helped to give them new life. I did check the reviews and watch the instructional video before starting. The colors shown on the product have not been altered or changed. I used only the red, white, and blue for this project. The white mainly for my oopsies. While acetone can help to remove them, it is a bit cumbersome to use in the beginning.**If you do your drawings or sketches prior to the degreaser(acetone), the product will take them off.Initially I started with the tongue of the shoe and even with thin coats the paint did seem to streak but as you as more layers you cannot see them. A little of the paint does go a long way as the colors I used still look like I just opened them. I did notice that if I added the color to the fabric part of the tongue it does soak up the paint quite a bit. Thin layers do dry quickly, so I applied 1 coat and then did another once dry to the touch. Allowed several hours after second coat. Did about 4 to 5 coats on these, dependent on the color you are looking for. Then finished with the Angelus Matte Acrylic Finisher No. 602 and did not apply the finisher to areas that were not painted. Now on the hunt for the next project.

Angelus leather paint is excellent! I purchased another set!!

Angelus leather paint is one of the best even though the bottles Maybe 1 ounce a little goes a long way! I stand by this leather paint as you see I finished my purse. I also fix my sister‘s leather couch. I follow the instructions and use everything. It said that I needed seven years ago. I fix my sisters couch. I blended the colors together and got the right color for her couch I used the primary colors to mix to get certain type of chocolate brown , And this day right now they don’t even remember that it was bleach accidentally spilled on the couch and I restored it! don’t remember It’s because there’s no evidence and they forgot and when I tell them they look at me like you’re kidding me! I wish I would’ve took a picture of before and after because even I myself, if I didn’t know I did it. I wouldn’t believe me either! This is excellent leather paint. Just use it according to the directions, Use the cleaner and the finisher!! You will not have any peeling just use it correctly and a little bit goes along way!! I am definitely a customer for life! That’s why I continue to order these wonderful leather paint.

Very vibrant and wonderful on veg tan leather!eather

I absolutely love these paints! They are so bold and bright on my leather projects. I don't have to dilute with water, I just paint directly onto the leather. Sometimes I water it down to do a more blending effect but it's not necessary. I bought the basic primary colors bundle with brushes and they mix up very well into your desired color and seal perfectly too with resolene when done. The picture is a galaxy feather bookmark I did and a tarot inspired earring
