This water-based acrylic paint is formulated to bond with smooth leather, vinyl, and canvas without cracking or peeling. Apply in thin, even coats after thorough surface preparation with a deglazer to ensure maximum adhesion and a factory-like finish. The formula is self-leveling and remains flexible once fully cured, allowing the material to bend without the pigment flaking or separating.

Formula: Flexible, water-based acrylic that stays pliable on high-flex areas like the toe box.

Application: Compatible with brushes, sponges, or airbrushes when thinned with 2-Thin.

Coverage: High-opacity pigment provides consistent saturation on both light and dark surfaces.

Durability: Resists water, scratches, and fading once the 24-hour curing process is complete.

Sizes: Available in 1 oz, 4 oz, Pint, and Quart containers to suit any project scale.

PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry.

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

Thies paints worked amazing I really loved the quality and the coverage is amazing I was able to paint both shoes with very little paint used I do wish I punched a thinner for it to help thin the paints out a little to give me little more work time but I. Awesome cleaner, paint and sealer

This was my first time EVER painting on shoes! I’m headed to Disneyland next week, so I thought how fun to paint my comfy old pair of tennis shoes (yes I actually play tennis!) I love how easy it was to clean up the shoes, paint them and seal them!!! I hope to do more shoes soon!!! I’d love to share a little photo, I just know how!!!

Angelus Blue Paint

Angelus Blue leather-furniture paint is the best I've ever used, certainly superior to leather dyes, which are quite problematic and unnecessarily expensive to apply. Together with Fire Red, I've been able to remake the appearance of two otherwise albatross (if expensive) leather wingback chairs that are now proudly displayed in my upstairs art gallery.
