Leather dyes are super strong and full of color. They work great on leather because they soak in and last a long time. Suede dyes are a bit different—they have less color in them and are made to keep suede soft. Suede is that soft, fuzzy leather, and it needs special care. If you put leather dye on suede, it can make the suede hard, not soft and fuzzy like it should be.
Dyes takes the color of what is under them. So if you dye something white with red it will turn pink. It mixes with it. Paint sits on the surface and grabs on. You can cover anything with paint. Our paint is water based while our dyes are alcohol based.
Yes, all Angelus Dyes are mixable! Angelus Leather Dyes can be mixed with other Angelus Leather Dyes, and the same for Angelus Suede Dyes. Mixing dyes to acheive specific colors is harder than mixing paints and does require testing. (Do not mix Suede Dyes and Leather Dyes together.)
Keep in mind that this is considered a professional product. You may need to perform many tests before applying it to your final piece.

I'm so pleased with the coverage on my old suede Birkenstocks with the Chamois color dye. I used the Angelus cleaning solution first, and it brought so much life back to the old suede without any damage or discoloration. Chamois dye does have an ever so slightly pinkish hue to it depending on the light. I love it.

I tried to match your chamois color for dyeing a pair of old desert boots in their original sand or wheat color. Unfortunately, the color was way too light, and your beige [ordered previously to this] was rather pink-ish in color. I do like your dye intensity and quality, however. I wish you could offer more suede dye colors as you do with your leather dye selections. I found some of your leather color selections seeming closer to the color of the boots in question.
I picked this color because it does have a slight pink hue which was the same shade of the nubuck trim on a pair of NikeLab Nike Air Max Plus TNs I am rehabbing. Big learning curve on how much or little to apply. Once I learned how to blot out or to add a dab of water to thin problem areas, the project went smoothly.

I had a pair of new shoes with two bleach spots on them I was so upset & I did not want to throw them away. I purchased both the Beige and Chamois Suede Dye mixed them together to create the perfect color to match my shoes. I was able to repair them and they look perfect now. I have used black Angelus suede dye before and was amazed with the ease of application and absorption. Excellent product. The second time around I purchased the dye directly from Angelus. The Chamois color is lighter than expected, but worked well in renewing an old pair of kakki sandals. Chamois dye transformed the sandals into summery footwear.

I recently bought some sheepskins to make a shearling coat, one of the "Marlboro Man" variety. These coats cost many hundreds to buy, which I couldn't afford. I used Angelus sued dye to change the color of the skin side. It worked just fine. I used a Preval Spray System (from Home Depot) to atomize and spray the dye evenly. It worked very well. I would recommend Angelus products to anyone needing to dye leather or suede.
