The Angelus Neon Color Kit is a neon leather paint set with all 12 Angelus neon colors in 1 oz. bottles. Every color lights up under a black light, so it's made for glowing customs, galaxy designs, and any project that needs to stand out.

The paints are water-based and stay flexible once dry. We've made Angelus paint in Los Angeles since 1907.

Colors in the kit

Tropic Sun Yellow, Sunset Yellow, Flaming Orange, Lava Orange, Rio Red, Tahitian Pink, Parisian Pink, Paradise Purple, Bahama Blue, Amazon Green, Popsicle Green, and Jamaican Joy, each in a 1 oz. bottle.

Before and after you paint

Neon paints are naturally more translucent, so lay down a base coat of Angelus White or a light grey first for the brightest result. On leather, remove the factory finish with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer, then seal your work with Angelus 4-Coat.

Common questions

Do Angelus neon paints glow in the dark?

They light up under a black light, but they don't store light or glow once the black light is off. For true glow-in-the-dark paint, use Angelus Green Glow.

Can I buy the neon colors one at a time?

Yes. Every color is also sold on its own in 1 oz. to quart sizes.

Can you airbrush Angelus neon paint?

Yes. Use an airbrush with at least a 0.35mm nozzle, and thin the paint with Angelus 2-Thin if you need it to flow more easily.

How to Paint Leather:

Use Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer, making 3–5 passes to remove the finish.
Let the leather dry for a few minutes, then wipe with a microfiber cloth.
Apply a similar-color base coat first; Neon colors require it for proper brightness.
Apply 3–5 thin coats of Angelus Paint with a brush, sponge, or airbrush (0.35 mm+). Allow 15–30 minutes between coats.
Allow the paint to cure for 24 hours before bending or wearing.
For added protection or sheen, apply 1–2 light layers of Angelus 4-Coat.

How to Paint Canvas and Denim:

Clean the material thoroughly using Angelus Easy Cleaner to remove oils and dirt.
Ensure the canvas or denim is completely dry.
For a softer, flexible feel, mix the paint with Angelus 2-Soft and heat-set after applying.
Apply a similar-color base coat; Neon colors need it to pop.
Apply 3–5 thin coats, drying 15–30 minutes between layers.
Canvas doesn’t require a top coat, but Angelus 4-Coat can be used to adjust sheen.

I’ve been struggling to get the paint to not be splotchy despite several thin coats. I can still see the white showing through. This was only an issue with the darker colors for me personally. The neon yellow went on as I would expect, only 3-4 thin coats but the neon green and neon pink are in their seventh and sixth coat respectively and the pigments are still struggling to cover up the white underneath. Maybe I didn’t strip enough of the finish off and this is user error but be advised that the material it is being applied to may cause your mileage to vary. I’m hoping this is something I did wrong and why I feel a middle of the road three stars is fair.

I’m generally a very crafty person that follows the instructions closely so a less experienced person might feel that there is a much larger learning curve to making sure the application of the paint is correct. Again, this could be a situation where I did something wrong so I doing think it’s fair to give a lower rating in account of my own mistakes in handling and applying the product.

Sorry to hear these were a little troublesome for you to work with. The Neon colors can be a little tricky to learn. At first. But once you got them down, they are such a fun pigment to add to your designs.
