Leather dyes are super strong and full of color. They work great on leather because they soak in and last a long time. Suede dyes are a bit different—they have less color in them and are made to keep suede soft. Suede is that soft, fuzzy leather, and it needs special care. If you put leather dye on suede, it can make the suede hard, not soft and fuzzy like it should be.
Dyes takes the color of what is under them. So if you dye something white with red it will turn pink. It mixes with it. Paint sits on the surface and grabs on. You can cover anything with paint. Our paint is water based while our dyes are alcohol based.
Yes, all Angelus Dyes are mixable! Angelus Leather Dyes can be mixed with other Angelus Leather Dyes, and the same for Angelus Suede Dyes. Mixing dyes to acheive specific colors is harder than mixing paints and does require testing. (Do not mix Suede Dyes and Leather Dyes together.)
Keep in mind that this is considered a professional product. You may need to perform many tests before applying it to your final piece.

Hi there! when you dye suede, some saturate better than others. Since this is considered more of a professional product to use, we like to recommend wiping the material after you dye it to see if there is any over saturation, if there is, then you can use some rubbing alcohol to pull out that overstauration. Once that is done, a Mink Oil spray is good to rejuvenate that suede.

I dyed my Birkenstock straps with this from light mint green to navy blue, because I had managed to stain the brand new sandals and couldn't lift the stain. It did cover the stain nicely and was easy to apply.
But: Some parts of my dye job appear more purple than blue and it turned out a bit uneven overall. Maybe I over-applied... But still, that's why I don't want to give 5 stars.

Few years ago I used 1.5 bottles to stain my tan suede Riedell boots navy blue, recently touched up with 1 bottle and skates look like new again. Totally worth it, beautiful navy blue color, quality and fast shipping. Would order again. Was helpful to watch a how to video before diving in.
I've used Angelus suede paint before, I painted my Adidas Hamburg trainers and the result was great (Lilac colour). This time I painted Adidas Handball Spezial in Navy and after the first coat, I got these brown and rusty spots. I let the trainers dry and applied a coat again a day later, but there were more such spots (photo). Eventually, after completely drying, I used a stiff brush to lift the nap on the suede, and noticed that the rust marks started to disappear too (you can see these areas). In the end it took me quite a while to remove the stains, and I almost wiped off the brush, but I was pleased with the result, the trainers are as good as new.P.S. I didn't get what the stains were.
Based on your description, it sounds like the shoe might've been bronzed.This happens when too much dye has been applied to the shoe. Because our dyes are heavily pigmented, using too much dye in one spot might create the bronzing you are experiencing.In the future, we can recommend for you to use denatured alcohol with a microfiber towel to remove any excess dye on the shoes.This should help remove some of the bronzing on the shoes. Very happy with my purchase! It was delivered quite fast and the navy suede color looks beautiful! Doesn’t have a strong smell, the applicator that came with was easy to use, and the finish product looks beautiful. Note that it is a true dark navy blue - some pics were a bit brighter than actual finished product - but it was exactly what I was going for.

Great product. High quality dye. I have several of their suede dyes and wouldn’t use any other product. Easy application, dries quickly, and holds up well. I live in the south and often get my suede wet in dew laden grass. This product keeps my shoes looking new.

Perfect color ... what I wanted to achieve. User error: I used too much product in my first application but followed the instructions on the back of the bottle of using rubbing alcohol and soft cloth to lessen up the rust tinge caused by my heavy application ... worked perfectly. When I did the other shoe, I backed off on how much product I used. Thanks Angelus.
