Angelus Pink Suede Dye is a suede dye for refreshing or fully restoring suede sneakers, boots, and shoes in pink. It soaks into the suede fibers instead of sitting on top like paint.

Before you dye

Because the dye soaks in, the final color depends on the suede underneath. For example, red dye on white suede turns pink, not true red. Test on a hidden spot first.

Dyeing leather is different from painting as it soaks into the material rather than sitting on top like paint.

The final color depends on the base color of the leather, so a white surface dyed with red will turn pink, not true red.

Angelus Leather Dyes are designed to enhance and transform brown leather rather than lighten it. Keep this in mind when selecting your dye color.

DYEING SMOOTH LEATHER WITH ANGELUS LEATHER DYE

1. Prep by wiping down leather with leather preparer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag.

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. Wipe down with microfiber towel to remove all lint.

3. Using Wool Daubers (One is supplied with each dye) soak the dye on the dauber.

4. Be careful of what you are dyeing. If you are dyeing a large spot use the dauber fully soaked. If you are doing a smaller section a paint brush or much less dye on the dauber may be required. 

5. Make sure to soak the article you are dyeing. Dye works by soaking into the item you are dyeing. It does not act like paint. Feel free to soak and evenly rub across to make sure all is even. 

6. Leave to dry. You may see a tint, bronzing, or any different finish. Do not panic! This is just residual dye on the surface.

7. (Optional) Wipe with a microfiber towel to remove excess dye pigment. If there is still a sheen or tint use some alcohol on said microfiber and wipe down quickly. Do not let the alcohol sit on the item or else you risk lifting some of the dye and discoloring. Once done the tint should disappear and it will just be the color. 

8. If you wish to dye the item more of the color complete steps 5-7 again. 

9. If you are looking to protect and nourish the leather we suggest using Angelus Leather Balm or Neutral Angelus Shoe Polish. If you do not want the shine of the shoe polish just lightly buff versus a full buff to shine. If you dyed the article a black or brown we would suggest even buffing with a colored shoe polish or Lustre Cream.

DYEING SUEDE WITH ANGELUS SUEDE DYE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the suede material. 

2. You cannot "SPOT TREAT" suede. Please make sure to fully wash/clean the entire surface to avoid water spots.

3. If the suede feels hard in texture, there is too much product in the material. Use a suede brush to loosen the suede. You can also use a soft bristle brush and water to pull out the cleaner. Let it dry, then you can continue.

4. Using Wool Daubers (One is supplied with each dye) soak the dye on the dauber.

5. Be careful of what you are dyeing. If you are dyeing a large spot use the dauber fully soaked. If you are doing a smaller section a paint brush or much less dye on the dauber may be required. 

6. Make sure to soak the article you are dyeing. Dye works by soaking into the item you are dyeing. It does not act like paint. Feel free to soak and evenly rub across to make sure all is even. 

7. Leave to dry for a few hours.

8. Using our Suede Kit brush or a strong bristled brush, break up the suede to bring it back to its natural feel. Be careful to not let residual dye get on other parts while brushing excess off. This will help the suede feel original again as well as remove excess dye so not run in case it gets wet.

9. (Optional)We highly recommend spraying down with our Water Repellent or Mink Oil Aerosol. \

Can I spot treat suede?

No. Clean and dye the whole surface to avoid water spots. If the suede feels hard, brush it to loosen the nap before dyeing.

Will the color look the same on my suede?

It depends on the suede underneath. Red dye on white suede turns pink, not true red. Test a hidden spot first.

Can I dye any suede black?

Black covers most suede colors well, since dye works best going darker.

Can I mix suede dye colors?

Yes. Angelus suede dyes mix together, so you can blend a custom shade. Don’t mix suede and leather dyes.

Suede dye or leather dye?

Suede dye for suede and nubuck. It has less color than leather dye and is made to keep suede soft; leather dye can make suede hard.

Gorgeous, but now everything is pink!

I died one of my Moxi Jack boots pink and it looks GORGEOUS! The boots were previously blue and the pink took to the blue very well! I added a little of the dark red to make the pink a bit darker and it mixed well too! My only complaint is the dye seems to rub off on everything it touches. I have brushed the boots out multiple times, sprayed suede protector on it, used a dry cloth, and it still seems to rub off onto everything. Same thing with the grey dye - It seems any of the opaque dyes do this. Hoping it will bleed less over time?

Easy to apply

Application process was super easy. Definitely needs to be shaken frequently during use because the dye separates over time. Not as bright as I was hoping for, but still a great product.

Pink Dye

The pink dye did a fantastic job of dying tan suede moccasins boots. I wasn't sure if it would work due to the darker tan but the boots are now a wonderful rosy pink. It does take a lot of dye for 4 coats but we'll worth the outcome.

Fantastic, identical to Moxi strawberry

It’s pretty good

It’s pretty good but I’ve noticed there’s some color inconsistencies between the batches. The one I received recently had a darker hue than the one I bought several months ago. Other than that it works like it should

I was able to restore a pair of suede Vans I bought where one was faded from it being a display shoe. I wasn’t sure how great it would look since I’ve never dyed shoes before but I am so happy with the results! I mixed the pink with the bone color to lighten it up a bit (I read it here somewhere that someone did that) and it turned out perfect. Thanks for making a quality product!

From Boring Beige to Pretty Pink

What colors should I mix to get a shade of fuchsia?

Hey there! It might be difficult to achieve a fuchsia with our suede dyes. You can try Lilac with the Pink suede dye, but we fear the pigments might not be able to blend well. My smooth skin baby pink leather jacket is discolored by sun and only some part of long sleeves are discolored (other place are safe and not discolored). Hey there, You had informed that your jacket has some discoloring so if you were to dye the whole jacket or even just the faded area, the final finish would look pretty patchy and unfortunately there isn't a way to get the whole jacket to an even color. My only other recommendation is possibly getting it professionally re-dyed... /: If in the event you still wanted to try, you would need (3)-3oz bottles of leather dye. The box comes with a wool dauber but I would recommend either a paintbrush or an air brush for ease and quality! I hope this helps!
