Weider @Weidercustoms
My name is Weider, and I’m a Dominican artist and the creator behind Weider Customs, where I turn sneakers into one of a kind pieces of art. My journey into the art world started with my passion for drawing, anime, and creating things with my own hands, which eventually led me to discover the world of custom footwear. I’m especially inspired by anime, storytelling, and the freedom to bring characters and ideas to life through color and design. Outside of painting, I enjoy exploring new creative techniques, working on my craft, and finding new ways to express my personality through art. For me, every pair of sneakers is more than just footwear, it’s a canvas that tells a story.

How to Customize Sneakers:
A Step-By-Step Guide
1Prep the Surface
Clean and prep the smooth leather area using Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer on a cotton pad or microfiber cloth. Wipe away the factory finish and oils so the paint can bond permanently to the leather.

2Sketch and Airbrush Base Colors
To lay down smooth background gradients using an airbrush mix Angelus 2-Thin directly into your Angelus Leather Paint at a ratio of 1 part 2-Thin to 4 parts paint. This prevents airbrush clogging and ensures an even coat without brush strokes. Spray in multiple light coats allowing each to dry before spraying the next.

3Hand Paint Fine Details
Apply Angelus Leather Paint in even coats letting each layer fully dry before adding the next. Fill in the main blocks for skin, hair, and Sailor Moon's outfit. Use a fine detail brush to trace the final dark outlines and bring out the anime details.

4Seal and Protect
Once all the artwork is completely dry, apply 2–3 thin coats of Angelus 4-Coat Finish to lock in the colors and protect against scuffs and water. Allow it to cure for 24–48 hours before wearing.
