My name is Kaitlyn, owner and artist behind Whimsy Reverie. From a young age I was always doodling and sketching all over any paper I could come across (sorry about all of those Mead yellow pads grandma lol). I decided to try acrylic paints in my 20’s and never looked back, Angelus Direct was actually my first professional grade medium and I’ve been reaching for it since, now well into my 30’s it’s still my favorite paint to work with. I love putting things I love down on wood and canvas, something deeply nostalgic or that tells a story. It’s been a long road of owning my own art business and selling my pieces all over the world. I consider myself the luckiest gal in the world because I would have never been able to accomplish what I have without the support of my husband and family, and I can’t wait to see where the future takes me and my artwork.

How to Paint on Wood:
A Step-By-Step Guide
1Prep
Clean the surface thoroughly. For hard surfaces or smooth leather, wipe down with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer (or lightly sand non-leather materials) to remove factory finishes, dirt, and oils.
2Paint
Apply Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint in thin coats. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next (typically 2 to 3 thin coats give even coverage without cracking).
3Finish
Apply 1 to 2 coats of Angelus Acrylic Finisher or Angelus 4-Coat Finish (available in Matte, Satin, Gloss, or High Gloss) to protect against scuffs, water, and daily wear.
4Cure & Post Care
Let the project air cure completely for 24 to 48 hours before use. Keep the item away from water during the first 48 hours.
