Zachary @Zacharyryan_art

I have done so many different art things from calligraphy to graffiti to cute watercolor animals. I started doing leather work and then came across the whole world of custom shoes and jackets. Now, as a teacher and missionary I do it on the side for fun and love improving my craft as well as making people smile when they get something they never knew could exist!

How to Paint an Anime Custom on Denim:
A Step-By-Step Guide

1Prep the Denim

Start with a clean denim jacket and make sure the surface is free of dirt, dust, and anything that could keep the paint from bonding properly. A clean surface gives the artwork a smooth base to work with.

Step 1
2Character Outlining and Colors

For a denim custom, keeping the fabric flexible is key. Mix Angelus 2-Soft with your Angelus Leather Paint to help the color absorb into the fabric, leaving the denim feeling soft instead of stiff or crunchy once the paint dries.

Step 2
3Creating the Sunset Gradient

With the base colors down, layer in the details to recreate the Dandadan artwork. For an extra effect, add Angelus Glow in the Dark paint to select areas of the design for a custom that hits differently when the lights go out.

Step 3
4Adding Environmental Details

Give the jacket plenty of time to dry and cure before wearing it. Once everything is set, your custom denim is ready to wear. The jacket has a flexible painted finish by day and a glow up by night.
