How to Customize Denim Jeans:
A Step-By-Step Guide

1Prep the Denim

Wash and fully dry the jeans before painting to remove any factory coatings, dirt, or oils. Place a piece of cardboard/ plastic inside the leg behind your design area so the paint doesn't bleed through to the other side.

Step 1
2(Optional) Mix Your Paint with 2 Soft

To keep the paint flexible on fabric, mix Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint with Angelus 2-Soft Fabric. Reasoning: Adding 2 Soft allows the paint to absorb directly into the denim fibers so it won't feel overly stiff or crack when the fabric stretches.

Step 2
3Apply the Paint

Apply thin coats using a paintbrush or airbrush, pushing the paint into the fabric. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next until you achieve full coverage.

Step 3
4Taking Care of Denim

To keep your design looking fresh, always turn the jeans inside out, wash on a gentle cycle with cold water, and air dry. Avoid high heat in the dryer and never bleach.
