This product is the solution to restore or paint the bottom of your dress shoes to a deep black color.

This is a stain type paint with an additional hardening agent specifically formulated for Shoe Sole Restoration Paint, designed to paint the bottom of hard-soled shoes such as leather-soled shoes, dress shoes, and heels.

PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry.

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

INSPIRATION

EXCELLENT

Not what its cut out to be.

I got this because it's a very popular product for soles. I used this on my Giuseppe heels and it came out terrible. The paint was streaking (retained brush strokes.) I personally find the paint to be too thick to work with and not opaque enough. I had to apply 5-6 coats to get full coverage and by that time, the paint strokes were just evident. Not a pretty sight at all. Not to mention, they sent me jar that was opened already. It didn't have a seal and it partly used. Not sure if that was what contributed to the consistency of the paint. Either way, I'm not too happy with this product.
