Leather laces

Laces seem like good quality but on one side you can see the seam, which shows white edges, and it looks bad if you lace them up conventionally. I had to lace my project up wit the bar technique to hide the seam. I probably wouldn’t purchase again.

Hi,I'm looking to paint a pair of knee high lace-up leather boots the collector edition maroon with a high gloss finish. Would these burgundy laces be a close enough colour match? Thanks
