I started painting since I was a little girl, because my family on my father's side are very artistic, they make pottery clay and everything related to art. So since I was little I was instilled with this love that has been growing with me since I was a child, I am currently studying visual arts, and I create artistic content on social media, where I customize all kinds of materials and stuff, because I feel that absolutely everything, can have our artistic touch.

How to Paint Custom Leather Headphone Case

1

Step 1: Prep the Leather for Paint

Before painting, it’s important to remove the factory finish so the paint adheres properly.

  • Use Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer to remove the factory finish and clean the leather. This step is essential for a long-lasting custom piece!
  • Make sure to go over the entire surface 3-5 times and let it dry fully before painting.

With the leather prepped, start by laying down smooth base coats.

  • Choose your main background color(s) and apply 2-5 thin, even layers of Angelus Leather Paint.
  • Allow each layer to dry before adding the next to keep the finish smooth and vibrant.

Step 3: Add Details & Design Elements

Once the base coat is set, it’s time to bring the design to life.

  • Use fine detail brushes for patterns, shapes, or custom graphics.
  • Alejandra carefully builds up her design, layering colors to create contrast and depth.
  • Work slowly and keep lines clean for the best results.

Step 4: Seal It In & Protect Your Art

To make sure the design holds up as long as possible, use a finisher!

Use: Any of the Angelus 4-Coat finishers. Flat, Matte, Satin, or High Gloss, depending on your desired finish.

This final coat protects the paint from scratches and keeps colors looking fresh.
