Back to Basics with the Angelus Basics Kit

Just getting started and looking for a kit that has everything you need? Been painting for a while, but feel like you need to stock up on new brushes and colors? The new Angelus Leather Paint Basics Kit has you covered.

This eleven piece set has all your painting essentials, from brushes to a leather preparer to a selection of paints. Coming with five assorted paint brushes in a variety of styles you'll have the right brush for just about any project.

This kit is fully customizable with the paints of your choice. Select the five 1 oz. Acrylic Leather Paints colors you want to complete this set. This is a great way to get all the paints you need at once for your next project.

No leather painting set would be complete without Leather Preparer & Deglazer. This is a must have when painting leather shoes, purses, furniture or other leather items that have a finish on them. Leather Preparer & Deglazer removes the finish so that any paint applied to the leather will last.

This Basics Kit is a great place to start. When you're ready to try some other products there are a few not included in this kit that can take your work to the next level. 2-Soft is a must have for keeping paint soft when painting on fabrics. 2-Thin is essential for thinning paints when painting with an airbrush. Finish off your project with Acrylic Finisher for a shiny top coat.

Paint and Prints

There are a variety of ways you can add patterns with paint. Adding a print to fabric, paper or even walls is an easy way to create a unique look. Pattern rollers have long been used to create the look of wallpaper on walls. Stamps, whether they are store bought or you make your own, are another way to create a custom design. Hand painting also gives you the freedom to create anything you want.

When adding a pattern to fabric with a paint roller or stamps add 2-Soft Fabric Medium to the paint you're using. A fabric paint additive will keep the printed fabric from loosing it's flexibility and softness once the paint is applied. Block printing is an easy way to add print to fabrics that has been done for many years. You can then use the fabric to create anything you like, from table cloths, curtains or clothes.

Existing clothes an also be given a new look with block printing by adding new patterns and colors. Make old clothes seem like new or turn new clothes a one of a kind piece.

Paper is another easy and fun way to experiment with patterns. Craft paper is easy to find and makes great, inexpensive wrapping paper. By stamping or using paint rollers you can give any gift a personal touch.

When it comes to bringing pattern into your home nothing makes more of a statement than wallpaper. The problem with wallpaper is that it can be expensive, hard to hang and comes in limited colors. Paint rollers give you the same effect, with none of the draw backs. All you have to do is find a pattern you like, a space you want to use it in and the color of your choice.

Airbrush Essentials

An airbrush is a great tool for creating a variety of effects, from splatter prints to ombre. After investing in an airbrush it's essential to have everything you need to keep it running smoothly and maintain it.

It's important to take the right steps to prepare paint when using it in an airbrush since they can easily get clogged. Add 2-Thin to keep paint the right consistency, as most paint is too thick to run smoothly through an airbrush on its own. When adding 2-Thin to Angelus paints, it's recommended that you use 1 part 2-thin to 4 parts paint ratio (1:4). After adding 2-Thin to the paint, filtering it through a Reusable Paint Strainer is the final step in ensuring that paint is well mixed and doesn't have any lumps.

The customizable Airbrush Starter Kit is a great way to stock up on everything your airbrush needs. The set lets you pick five Angelus Paints of your choice, a Leather Preparer and Deglazer2-ThinReusable Paint Strainer and three Mixing Jars

When you're done using it, cleaning your airbrush well after every use will make sure that paint doesn't dry inside and clog it. A kit like the Grex Full Air-Brush Cleaning Set gives you brushes in a variety of sizes, so you can find the right fit for every part. A cleaner, like Grex Air-Brush and Paint Cleaner, is also required for cleaning out the airbrush between colors and after it's done being used.

With a little extra work an airbrush can help you can create one of a kind designs over and over again.
