Angelus Bowler Brown is the ideal acrylic leather paint for shoes & sneakers. Perfect for restoring or customizing your favorite footwear or accessories!

PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry.

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

I bought two shades of brown, luggage and bowler along with a creme white. It is hard to judge from the photos the shades. For our chair I needed the bowler brown with just a few drops of the creme for an almost perfect match. There was a large area on the headrest that had peeled. It wasn't fabric underneath so absorption wasn't an issue. Two coats, thin coats, and it was covered. I saw videos of people gooping on the paint. Don't, it isn't needed. It covered so well I painted some faded from wear areas and cat claw holes. It looks so good. I didn't mix enough at time so I'd have to go back in with another coat to try and match what I'd done. Try not to do that, it doesn't always work. I can get away with "close" matches since the chair is made from sewn panels. So far the paint held up to family members sitting in the chair almost right away pre-sealer and full dry time. It's soft and pliable.
