My name is Olana, and I’m an artist currently based in Austria. I’ve been drawing and creating for as long as I can remember, and art has always been one of the greatest passions of my life. I primarily work with oil painting, but I also love hand-painting and customizing bags and other objects, transforming them into unique pieces of art. How did you hear about Angelus?
I discovered Angelus when I received a commission to hand-paint a vintage Louis Vuitton bag. It was a very special project, so choosing the right materials was extremely important to me. I asked ChatGPT to recommend the best professional paints for leather artwork, and that’s how I found Angelus. I tried the products for that project, loved the results, and Angelus has been part of my creative journey ever since.
What do you use our products for?
I use Angelus paints to create custom hand-painted designs on luxury bags, as well as on jewelry boxes for brands such as Cartier.
What are your top 5 Angelus products?
At the moment, I’ve only tried two Angelus paint sets: the Classic Acrylic Paint Set with basic colors and another set with beautiful beige and brown tones. I’m looking forward to trying more Angelus products in the future!
If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring artists, what would it be?
Don’t doubt yourself or be afraid — just create. Stay curious, explore different styles, study art and history, and find inspiration in the world around you.
How to Paint a Jewelry Box:
A Step-By-Step Guide
1Prep for Surface
Wipe down the box with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using a microfiber towel or cotton pad to remove factory sealants and oils so the paint can bond.
2Base Coat & Outline
Apply 1–2 thin base coats of your background color (or Angelus Flat White where the cat will go) to help the bright colors pop.
Rule: Always apply thin coats and allow 10–15 minutes of drying time between layers. Do not apply thick layers.
3Paint the Cat & Pink Bow
Paint the cat's fur body using thin coats of your chosen Angelus acrylic paint color. Use a fine detail brush for features like the whiskers, eyes, and nose.
Mix or apply Angelus Pink for the bow around its neck. Add a tiny dot of white paint for highlight detail on the bow and eyes to make it look pop and feel cute.
4Seal & Protect
Once the paint is completely dry (wait at least 15–30 minutes after the final detail), apply 1–2 thin coats of Angelus Acrylic Finisher or Angelus 4-Coat Finish (Matte or Satin is popular for art boxes). Gently stir the finisher before use and do not shake, as shaking creates bubbles. Apply thin brushstrokes. Allow the box to cure for 24 to 48 hours before handling or placing the wedding ring inside.
