Angelus Turquoise Paint is an acrylic leather paint in a bright, sea-toned turquoise, for customizing and restoring sneakers, boots, bags, and other leather goods. It's water-based, stays flexible once dry, and covers in 3 to 5 thin coats on a properly prepped surface.

Choose 1 oz., 4 oz., pint, or quart. We've made Angelus products in Los Angeles since 1907.

Works on

  • Leather shoes, bags, and furniture
  • Canvas and denim (add Angelus 2-Soft for a softer feel)
  • Wood
  • Plastic and metal, mixed with Angelus 2-Hard

Before and after you paint

On leather, take off the factory finish first with 3 to 5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer. When you're done, seal it with Angelus 4-Coat for protection and the sheen you want.

Pro-grade paint, made easy for first-timers

  • Angelus is the go-to paint for first-time customizers, and it's the same professional-grade paint fashion, footwear, and entertainment companies use to make costumes, exclusive pieces, and finished products. You get commercial-grade quality at everyday prices.
  • Thin coats go on smooth, and the color builds with each one.
  • Want to warm up first? Try a few strokes on the Angelus Leather Test Swatch, real leather with a smooth side and a suede side.
  • You can always adjust. Dried paint comes off with Deglazer, or you can simply paint over it, so you can keep going until you love it.
  • Free step-by-step tutorials on our YouTube channel and FAQs walk you through it. Not sure about a color? Check the Color Chart. Unused products can be returned within 30 days.

What customers say

“I mixed it with yellow to make a super intense hyper neon green. It covered well and although it's a strong color by itself proved to be really versatile.”

★★★★★ Angelina V., Everett, WA

“Perfect color match. Used paint to fill worn spots on sole, and worked perfectly.”

Common questions

Can I mix Turquoise with other Angelus colors?

Yes. All Angelus paints mix together, so you can lighten, darken, or shift Turquoise to match your project.

Can you airbrush Angelus Turquoise Paint?

Yes. Use an airbrush with at least a 0.35mm nozzle, and thin the paint with Angelus 2-Thin if you need it to flow more easily.

How much paint do I need?

A 1 oz. bottle usually covers 2 to 3 pairs of shoes completely. For a leather chair, plan on about a pint to a quart, and for a full couch, a quart or two.

PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry.

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

Great leather paint

I use Angelus leather paint for years and I absolutely satisfied with the quality of the product. The variety of colors Angelus offering is great. They could be mixed to the very delicate tints allowing artist to do quite sophisticated paintings. The only problem with the Angelus is quite expensive delivery. Otherwise - excellent! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMDltXbtfZ0

We purchased this paint for a leather office chair that we wanted to use in a bedroom as an as a sitting / visiting chair. The paint works great. We mix the two colors to create a soft, grayish teal and we’re very happy with the results. The paint went on smoothly and it took just two coats to go over dark black.

Great value

Love the 2oz paint options, however, I wish there were squeeze caps available either to purchase or to choose in lieu of the cap with the brush attachment. I tend to use other brushes anyway, so the attached brush gets goopy and needlessly messy.
