Angelus Vachetta is a technical acrylic coating specifically engineered for high-flexibility applications on leather, vinyl, and canvas. This professional-grade, water-based formula is designed to integrate with the material's fibers, ensuring the classic, natural tan pigment remains pliable even in high-stress areas like the toe box and side panels. By creating a permanent bond rather than a thick surface layer, it effectively eliminates the risks of cracking or peeling during constant mechanical movement.

To ensure a factory-standard finish, the surface must be prepared with a deglazer to remove original topcoats and oils. Applying the paint in light, incremental layers allows for a self-leveling, smooth appearance that is resistant to brush marks. Once the 24-hour curing cycle is complete, the Vachetta finish becomes an industrial-strength, waterproof barrier that provides long-term resistance against abrasive scuffs and environmental color fading.

Formula: Water-based, high-flexibility acrylic polymer optimized for permanent adhesion on footwear.

Application: Suitable for use with brushes, sponges, or airbrushes (thinning with 2-Thin is required for airbrush applications).

Coverage: High-density Vachetta pigment provides exceptional opacity; ideal for luxury-inspired customs or restoring the look of high-end vachetta leather goods.

Durability: Formulated for maximum resistance to water penetration, scuffing, and UV wear.

Sizes: Available in 1 oz, 4 oz, Pint, and Quart containers to support both individual projects and high-volume shop work.

PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag.ย (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results.ย 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like ourย Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas.ย

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our productย 2-Softย mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry.ย

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest ourย 4-Coat Clear Coat.

Great paint to work with.

Angelus paint is great to work with. First time I've used it to paint shoes. This particular color I mixed with beige and a drop of black to get the nude shade I wanted for my sandals. I got close. I wish it wasn't quite as orange. If it had a tinge more brown in it that would be great.

Beautiful color and coverage.

Beautiful color and great coverage. Angelus paint never disappoints. The leather stays soft and the paint doesn't flake or chip. It dries fast and a little goes a long way. Just remember, always apply in thin coats.

Great for your LV vachetta bags

I have used this color on lighter leather on the vachetta leather that was damaged due to water staining and it worked great. I did use a bit of a couple other colors to perfect the one color i was seeking so it would blend naturally!

Great Product Great Coverage

Wanted to paint and personalize some leather projects in the house and researched what the best paint was for a month! Finally pulled the trigger and ordered from Angelusโ€” at first I thought, โ€œWhat are these tiny bottles going to do!โ€ But it takes so little of the product for a rich color and great coverage. Very pleased with my order. Will purchase from thus brand again for other projects!

Good quality

The quality is as great as everything else from Angelus. The only issue was the color. I donโ€™t feel that the swatch they showed matched what it looks like in real life. I didnโ€™t know what vachetta leather from LV was before I got the paint, so it probably matches actual vachetta perfectly.

Vachetta need I say more

This is an awesome color! Itโ€™s perfect for refreshing the leather trim on my Gucci bag!!! Almost a perfect match! Holds well to the leather! Also nice on a Louis Vuitton. I love the way it refreshes the bag! But, also to be honest I like the natural Carmel of the leather! This paints holds well to bag straps and trim
