Collector Edition Maroon is the ideal custom shoe paint for bringing your sneakers to life. Perfectly matched to the iconic burgundy midsoles of the Jordan 5 "Burgundy" from 2006, this acrylic leather paint ensures a smooth, durable finish.

Whether you're customizing custom Jordan 5 kicks or personalizing other shoes, this high-quality leather paint offers vibrant, long-lasting color. For sneakerheads and crafters alike, Collector Edition Maroon is your go-to craft paint for superior results.


Angelus Maroon Paint is the perfect color match to the midsoles of the Jordan 5 "Burgundy" released in 2006.
PAINTING LEATHER

1. Prepare leather surfaces using 3-5 passes of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a rag. (acetone can also be used).

2. Wait for leather to dry a few minutes. When dry, wipe with microfiber cloth to remove any remaining dust particles.

3. Apply Angelus Paint with paint brush, airbrush (at least 0.35mm nozzle) or sponge. Apply 3-5 coats or until desired coverage has been reached. Less coats can be used for line work and detail work.

Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

4. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before allowing paint to bend or flex. Be careful of flying lint or debris getting on the shoe to avoid imperfections. Longer curing time ensures better durability.

5. To add extra protection or customize the finish, apply Angelus 4-Coat Clear Coat in Flat, Satin, Glossy, or Matte. Use 1-2 layers for the best results. 1-2 layers on top.

PAINTING CANVAS/DENIM - SHOES, CLOTHING, AND MORE

1. Prep by cleaning the surface with a cleaning product like our Angelus Easy Cleaner Kit. It is necessary to get out all the oils and dirt that may be sitting in or on the canvas. 

2. Make sure there is adequate dry time and that you wipe off and get all the cleaner out.

3. (Optional) If you want to make the paint soak in and not be as rubbery textured on canvas we suggest using our product 2-Soft mixed with our paint. You can paint Angelus paint directly on canvas without it but it just will feel more like a screen print then part of the shoe. When using 2-Soft you must heat set.

4. Paint with 3-5 light layers of Angelus Paint. Make sure to leave to dry 15-30 minutes between layers.

5. Leave to dry. 

(Optional) No additional protection is really needed as the paint has soaked into the canvas. If you want to change the sheen to a matte or glossy look instead we do suggest our 4-Coat Clear Coat.

What a Maroon!!! (Finally, a TRUE maroon)

True maroon is difficult to blend in a paint color, since it's neither as red nor as bright as the popular concept of that hue which is actually closer to oxblood. The Angelus edition I believe nails it, with a rich darkish brown that's just a touch off burgundy...another frequently shade-off blend. I have the Angelus burgundy also, and it's browner and more organic than the pop-edition color. I have paired the Angelus maroon very pleasingly with their Autumn Red, Brick and Burgundy paints, with accents of the English Tan, and am going to have to go back and do a hue-hunt to see if there is an Oxblood... Though, I can't imagine not buying it if I saw it, since I recently bought nearly $200-worth of paints from AD and another affiliated vendor and thought I'd done a pretty clean sweep! I normally use Daniel Smith and Golden acrylics, with specialty paints from Pebeo, but DS seems to be phasing out their acrylics. These suit my purpose better for painting details and small areas, and I'm so far very happy with my investment!
