On leather, take off the factory finish with 3 to 5 passes of Leather Preparer & Deglazer.

Paint
Brush on 3 to 5 thin coats. Let each one dry 15 to 30 minutes.

Seal
Wait 24 hours, then add 1 to 2 layers of 4-Coat to protect it and set the sheen.

Can you paint leather with Angelus paint?
Yes. Angelus paint is a water-based acrylic made for leather shoes, bags and furniture. Take off the factory finish first with 3 to 5 passes of Leather Preparer & Deglazer, then paint in thin coats.
How many coats does it take, and how long does it dry?
3 to 5 thin coats give full coverage, and fewer work for line and detail work. Let each coat dry 15 to 30 minutes, then wait at least 24 hours before the paint bends or flexes.
How far does a 1 oz. bottle go?
About 2 to 3 pairs of shoes per 1 oz. bottle for a full repaint. Detail work uses much less.
Does it work on canvas, denim and fabric?
Yes. Clean the fabric first so no oils or dirt are left. Mix in 2-Soft to keep painted fabric soft and more laundrable, and heat set it when you use 2-Soft.
Do I need to seal it?
It's optional, and it helps. A layer or two of 4-Coat adds protection and sets the sheen: Flat, Matte, Satin or High Gloss.
What if I make a mistake?
You can always adjust. Dried paint comes off with Deglazer, or you can simply paint over it.
I like to incorporate neon with regular colors, so that you have a good looking item under both kinds of lighting. I love working with Angelus paint, because of the smooth formula, and excellent coverage.

This paint was not like your normal paint. It was very watered down. I put four coats great prep and it’s still coming off.
Our Neon paints do require a base prior to applying them. The pigments in this paint are completely different from our standard paint. As you mentioned, they are not like our normal line. We are more than happy to offer you pointers if you want to reach out to us!

I like all the NEON color choices from Angelus.. I just used the pink on a pair of Ariats Fatbabys...they look SUPER!

For me the neon colors were a little hard to work with. Needed a lot more coats than regular paints. And some of the colors were a little patchy.

I recently purchased the neon Amazon green for a specific project. The color is extremely vibrant and exactly what I was looking for.
This color is darker than Popsicle Green.It looks great on the white AF1.
Even though I purchased angelus paint on ebay the colors matched my Seahawks Nike air force one color scheme plan to do more painting these paints really hold up
If you take your time and do all correctly, you can have a pair of shoes nobody else has. Works great!

Even though I put a white base layer on before painting, it was impossible to get an even layer of neon paint on the shoe so it turned out quite amateurish...Any suggestions on what I should do next time?
Hey there, sorry you had issues with the Neon Amazon Green. They can be a little tricky to work with. The best way for these to be applied is by an airbrush. I am able to also add colors to them that are close in reference. For example, I add light green to this just to give it more opacity, especially if I don't have access to an airbrush. Hope this helps a little.
