Angelus Multi-Purpose Wet Sandpaper is a 12-sheet wet sandpaper assortment for scuffing surfaces so paint grips better and for smoothing rough spots on custom projects. Each sheet is 4.5" x 5.5", a smaller size that's easier to handle on shoes.

How to use it

  1. Pick your grit, with 400 for rougher spots and 1500 for the finest finish.
  2. Sand lightly over the area.
  3. Wipe away the dust before you prep or paint.

Common questions

Which grit should I use before painting plastic or vinyl?

We suggest 800 or 1500 grit to give the paint something to grip, then paint with Angelus Paint mixed with Angelus 2-Hard.

Is there a bigger size?

Yes. The 9" x 11" Wet Sandpaper comes in larger sheets.

Reasonable Sandpaper

Before purchasing a starter kit I did some reading and found out if the acrylic paint doesn't stick, you need to rough up the surface, so that's why bought the wet sand paper. I haven't used it yet but it looks good and was reasonably priced for the amount and variety sent.

I haven’t used these sandpaper sheets yet, but I plan to use them to fix worn corners on the bottom of handbags and then finish them with Angelus leather paints and acrylic finishers.

Must have for shoe prep

First time using wet sandpaper or sandpaper in general for shoe prep and it helped tremendously with my paint application. I use the deglazer first and finish up with the wet sandpaper.
